Employee will have the opportunity to:
- Gain firsthand knowledge of the inner workings of campaigns with primary focus on the fundraising for State and Federal candidates, Political Action Committees, State and National committees, and C3 and C4 non-profit organizations.
- Learn and utilize the strategies used to map out and implement a successful political fundraising plan.
- Acquire and utilize the best practices in preparing, staffing, and following up on fundraising events.
- Learn to use the tools that are beneficial for any fundraiser that include but are not limited to:
· National and Local databases hosted by the Federal Elections Commission and NV Secretary of State.
· Programs and Databases used to collect and house internal information on contributors.
- Gain an understanding of campaign finance laws and regulations for both the State and Federal levels.
- Ensure clients adhere to a predetermined schedule but also understand how to troubleshoot in real time.
- Work closely with candidate(s)/client(s) on a daily basis and attend donor meetings and interact with donors.
- Interact and manage aspects of digital, text, and direct mail fundraising.
Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Event preparation, staffing, and follow up
- Research and identification of new and renewing contributors
- Preparation of thank you notes and fundraising letters
- Office Administrative tasks
- Caging and inputting data
- Assisting in donor outreach, relationship building, follow- up and maintenance
- Fundraising database and list maintenance
Qualifications needed:
Education and/or Experience
- High School diploma with college diploma preferred
- Demonstrated interest in Politics preferred
Communication and Analytical Skills:
- Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to respond to inquiries and requests in a timely manner
- Ability to establish priorities, work independently and proceed with objectives with minimal supervision
- Must maintain attention to detail
Computer Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Other Skills and Abilities
- Ability to work nights and weekends according to event schedules
- Ability to travel in-state and out of state according to event and meeting needs
- Highly organized and ability to work in fast paced environment
- Desire to work as a team player and assist when and where needed
- Exhibit a professional appearance
- Maintain a dependable, professional and courteous office environment
