Digital Fundraising Specialist

Job description

The right candidate for this position is ready and eager to learn and become an exceptional online fundraising specialist. This candidate is ready to exceed expectations, communicate professionally with clients, and willing to leave their ego at the door.

Reporting to the Director of Fundraising and Operations, this position will provide significant program and project leadership responsibilities as well as implementation of client requests. Typical engagements include but are not limited to building membership and supporter lists, list optimization, data management, landing page design and implementation, copywriting emails and ads, and implementing overall tactics for raising funds online.

This position has a major influence on setting strategy and tactics for our clients. An ideal candidate will have significant client-facing and project management experience along with 2-5 of experience in the political industry.

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously and understand project priorities in the context of agency and client expectations.
  • Troubleshoot stalled processes and seek help from project managers, other teams, and team leaders when appropriate.
  • Translate projects into calendars and task lists.
  • *This is a client facing position.* Serve as the point of contact for a portfolio of online fundraising client accounts, working with other teams at Majority Strategies to determine the fundraising objectives of each client, develop a plan to execute against them, and ensure expectations are set and met.
  • In collaboration with other team members, develop concepts and ideas for overall online ads, social media, email copywriting, text copywriting and landing pages.
  • Provide leading creative and fundraising services to clients, such as digital content creation, copywriting, advertising plans, data analysis, and implementation.
  • Actively participate in meetings, both client-facing and internal, and produce follow-up documentation.
  • Write and produce client-facing proposals and memoranda, presentations, strategic plans and other materials, both independently and in collaboration with other Majority Strategies employees and representatives.
  • Data management and optimization will be a critical aspect of this role monitoring to see how well fundraising client ads and email sare performing and maintaining optimization for each.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of online initiatives through weekly reports and assist in analyzing the data in order to optimize fundraising efforts for our clients.
  • Provide strategic and tactical recommendations designed to achieve goals.


  • A desire to change the world and create a better future.
  • At least 2 years of online fundraising experience, preferably in a political or agency setting.
  • Strong proofreading and editing skills.
  • Can demonstrate proven strategic thinking and success in digital fundraising campaigns.Has significant hands-on experience managing digital fundraising projects (i.e email, social media fundraising, text messaging, and online advertising, etc.).
  • Considerable experience managing social media platforms for end users, including knowledge of audience development.
  • Can demonstrate success managing customer relationships, expectations and deliverables.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to multitask, meet tight deadlines, and adapt quickly to changing priorities in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills with an ability to clearly convey concepts to different stakeholders.
  • Accountable for starting tasks with limited direction while functioning in a team environment.
  • Flexibility with time and schedule to meet deadlines.
  • A positive and enthusiastic attitude.
  • Preferred Expertise in social media management and social content development.
  • Knowledge of Google Analytics.
  • Experience in a political campaign field as staff, a volunteer, or other activity.
  • A team player that shows up for the team and clients.
